Circus Lab Amsterdam is een bruisende circusbroedplaats die lessen, activiteiten en trainingen biedt aan kinderen vanaf geboorte tot volwassenheid, allemaal vanuit een sociale basis. Circus Lab is gevestigd in de wijk Slotervaart, midden in Amsterdam Nieuw-West, een stadsdeel dat bekendstaat om haar culturele diversiteit en sociale dynamiek. 

 

Circusdisciplines, dans en theater maar ook hip hop en streetdance kunnen elkaar in het circus lab ontmoeten en bestuiven. De unieke kant van Circus Lab Amsterdam is dat de gebruikers heel divers zijn; van traditionele scholing tot experimentele vernieuwend circustheater vormen.

Circus Lab is een plek in Amsterdam waar de circusarts en disciplines ontwikkeld kunnen worden en trainingen door professionele leraren worden gegeven voor professionele artiesten, talent ontwikkeling en sociale projecten. Ook worden er internationale workshops georganiseerd, is het een ontmoetingsplek van circusartiesten, een plek om projecten te starten en een research ruimte voor het maken van vernieuwend circustheater.  De voorstellingen worden door enkele partners internationaal gepresenteerd. 

 

Circus Lab is een plek in Amsterdam waar de circusarts en disciplines ontwikkeld kunnen worden. Speciale aandacht is er voor sociale circus ontwikkeling in de wijk; buurtbewoners worden uitgenodigd om onze presentaties bij te wonen.  Olympia Circus (ons sociaal circus) heeft een sterke binding met bewoners en de kinderen uit de omgeving.

Samen met 'ISH Dance Collective' zijn we gevestigd in het monumentale gebouw 'Podium Lely'. Podium Lely wordt momenteel verbouwd. In 2027 keren wij terug in een gerenoveerd en geüpdatet circus gebouw.

Circus Lab Amsterdam is a vibrant circus incubator offering classes, activities, and training for children from birth through adulthood, all grounded in a strong social mission. Circus Lab is located in the Slotervaart neighborhood, in the heart of Amsterdam Nieuw-West, a district known for its cultural diversity and social dynamism.

Circus disciplines, dance, and theatre, as well as hip hop and street dance, come together and cross-pollinate at Circus Lab. What makes Circus Lab Amsterdam unique is the diversity of its users: from traditional training programs to experimental and innovative forms of circus theatre.

Circus Lab is a place in Amsterdam where circus arts and disciplines can be developed, and where professional teachers provide training for professional artists, talent development, and social projects. International workshops are also organized here, making it a meeting place for circus artists, a space to initiate projects, and a research environment for creating innovative circus theatre. Several partner organizations present these performances internationally.

Circus Lab is a place in Amsterdam where circus arts and disciplines can continue to grow and evolve. Special attention is given to the development of social circus initiatives within the neighborhood; local residents are invited to attend our presentations and performances. Olympia Circus (our social circus) has a strong connection with local residents and children from the surrounding area.

Together with ISH Dance Collective, we are based in the monumental building Podium Lely. Podium Lely is currently undergoing renovation. In 2027, we will return to a renovated and updated circus venue.
